Sterile Compounding
Town and Country Compounding and Consultation of Ridgewood, New Jersey, specializes in pharmacy compounding, which is the traditional method of preparing customized medications to meet unique physician and patient needs.
Unlike typical pharmacies, Town & Country Compounding has a dedicated compounding laboratory which utilizes modern state-of-the-art equipment and technology, innovative medication dosing devices and high-quality ingredients. We consistently obtain only the best quality ingredients from known and trusted sources that employ a team of chemists who routinely test the ingredients for purity and consistency through out their preparation process.
All sterile medications, i.e., injectables and ophthalmic medications, are prepared to the USP<797> standard for Sterile Products in a Class-100 Glove Box. This glove box is located in our Class 1000 Isolated Clean Room with an advanced laminar flow hood. Only pharmacists who have received specialized training to the USP<797> sterile standard will compound sterile medications.
In addition to meeting the requirements of USP <797>, we have taken an advanced step, by assuring our compliance to USP <797> by using the SIMPLIFI <797> software by Pharmacy One Source. SIMPLIFI <797> software is a complete quality system for USP<797> compliance.
Beyond the scope of any state regulation, Town & Country Compounding is joining with an independent testing laboratory, DYNALABS, of St. Louis, Missouri, to participate with their CQI (Continuous Quality Improvement Partner Program). The program will certify the accuracy and precision of testing to industry standards over long periods of time.
Recently we expanded our clean room capabilities by adding a Lyophilizer. Lyophilization, also known as freeze-drying or cryodesiccation is a dehydration process typically used to preserve a perishable medication or to make medications more convenient for transport. It is another benefit provided for our patients and physicians.
Our compounding pharmacists and certified pharmacy technicians have gone through extensive compounding training and pride themselves on the quality of their work. They share their knowledge by advising the patient on the protocol for his or her medication, and in patient consultations.
